HOUSTON -- While it wasn't quite the wild west, it was a pretty close resemblance as the 74th Annual Downtown Rodeo Parade made its way through the streets of Houston on Saturday.

Hundreds of people lined the streets to see the thousands of trail riders and marching bands who gathered for the parade,? kick off the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo each year.

For many people the parade, first held in 1938, is a family tradition.

Among the parade participants were the Texans' Andre Johnson and J.J. Watt, who served as the grand marshals.
