Popular South Philly spot Federal Donuts opening in Center City ...

Federal Donuts' specialties

Chicken and waffles? That's so LA.

If you?re someone who thinks that the one thing missing from the Center City dining scene is donuts and fried chicken under one roof, well then you?re in luck.? The popular South Philly eatery Federal Donuts plans to open up their second location at 1608-34 Sansom Street in the former Video Liquidators space.

Known for their unique donuts (favorites such as Mandarin S?mores, Vanilla-Lavender, and Jalapeno are typical best sellers), fried chicken, and delicious coffee, they hope to open in the coming months.? Considering the CCRA Zoning Committee seemed excited for the eatery to open and the ZBA variance approval is likely, it looks like Rittenhouse Row is about to welcome a little slice of hipster paradise to Center City.

Federal Donuts? new space is nearly 680 sq. ft. and the owner plans on sinking roughly $200,000 to improve the space and ready it for the proposed take out restaurant to move in.? Expect the shop to operate from 7 am ? 7 pm so if you want a Pomegranate Nutella donut, make sure to get there early because if this location is anything like its South Philly counterpart, the fancy donuts will sell out quickly.

Once Federal Donuts officially opens we will be sure to alert the masses.? Stay tuned.
